Day Trip to the Florida Keys
A few weeks ago, my cousin Anna, came from Madrid, Spain to visit me. We decided to take a day trip to the Florida Keys. It’s only 1.5-2 hours by car to get to Key Largo and Islamorada. The drive there is easy and the scenery is beautiful. Many Miami locals drive out there to fish and relax. If you haven’t done so, it’s a great mini retreat. If you are a tourist and visiting Miami with a day to spare, I highly recommend it. It is a completely different vibe in the Keys than in Miami.
Homestead: Robert is Here
On the way to the Keys, you will inevitably drive by Homestead. Take a short detour and head over to Robert is Here. It’s an amazing fruit stand and store that has a great backstory. They have fresh exotic and tropical fruits like starfruit, dragonfruit, sugar apples, rambutans and more. There you can find all kinds of organic honey, hot sauces, and their juice stand makes the freshest juices. You can combine as many different fruit juices as you want.
